Mid-Year Student Assessment™
Build on the success of your first-term interventions with this follow-up survey
The Mid-Year Student Assessment is the companion survey to the College Student Inventory (CSI) and is compatible with CSI Form B and Form C. It lets you compare the strengths and challenges of your students at the mid-point of their first year and adjust your interventions accordingly.
Administer this follow-up survey at the end of the first term or beginning of the second term, and then compare the results to the data from the College Student Inventory you administered at the beginning of the first term. This allows you to:
- Identify current academic and social concerns and needs, providing a springboard for constructive action
- Learn the college plans of students: if students expect to complete their degrees at your campus, transfer to another institution, withdraw, or are unsure of their plans for the next term
- Establish updates for individual student's receptivity to your outreach service
- Measure changes in motivation from the first term
- Determine which campus services students utilize the most, and engage students about the services they request
- Assess satisfaction with nine aspects of the campus experience
- Create benchmarks for end-of-term progress.
