Kathy Fitzgerald
Associate Consultant
As an associate consultant, Kathy Fitzgerald offers a wide range of experience in student recruitment, institutional marketing, and public relations.
Currently, Ms. Fitzgerald is the vice president for enrollment management at Manhattanville College (NY). She is responsible for overseeing all admissions and financial aid strategy for the college at the undergraduate and graduate levels and in continuing education/lifelong learning.
Previously, Ms. Fitzgerald served as vice president for enrollment management at Paul Smith's College (NY). She developed the college's strategic recruitment plan and spearheaded the integration new technology into that plan, such as social media and Web 2.0 options. She also was a co-chair of the retention committee for the college.
Ms. Fitzgerald also served as vice president for marketing and enrollment management at The Sage Colleges (NY), where she had responsibility for the admission of undergraduate, graduate, and adult students, public relations for the colleges, and communications, including the Sage Web site. Her efforts helped Russell Sage (the women's college) raise average SAT scores by 50 points and increase the percentage of students in the top quarter of their class by 25 percent. The co-ed Sage College of Albany saw even more remarkable results during Ms. Fitzgerald's tenure, increasing average SAT scores by 73 points and percentage of students in the top quartile by 55 percent.
Ms. Fitzgerald also offers private sector experience in marketing and communications. She served as national marketing director for Computer Education Services Corporation, a technical training business. She managed the national marketing strategy, including print, radio, television, and direct marketing efforts. Prior to that, she served as director of public relations for Smith and Jones, and marketing and advertising firm. Her career in higher education began as coordinator for news services at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY).
